Child Guest: $100
*Hotel and Ski lift tickets not included. Fees cover conference registration and meals.
Meals
The conference fee covers breakfasts and dinners Thursday night through Saturday night. There are a large number of locations in the resort and near the lifts where lunch may be purchased. Please visit the dining tab on Snowbird’s website for additional information.
Accommodations
We have a block of rooms at the Snowbird Resort. To take advantage of our special pricing ($399 per night), reserve a room before January 16, 2025. Please call Snowbird Central Reservations at 800-453-3000 and mention you are with the Utah Winter Business Economics Conference 2025.
Children’s Room
We will have a children’s room available Friday and Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. The room will have kid-friendly foods, activities, and entertainment provided by adult child care professionals. Please indicate your child’s age during registration so we are adequately prepared.
Travel
The nearest airport is Salt Lake International Airport. Taxis and rideshares available from the airport, although please be aware that not every taxi and rideshare can handle the canyon during inclement weather. Snowbird also strongly recommends Canyon Transportation, a convenient shuttle servicing Salt Lake International Airport, Little Cottonwood Canyon and elsewhere in the Salt Lake Valley.
Make shuttle reservations through Snowbird’s Central Reservations, or call Canyon Transportation directly at 1-800-255-1841.
Ski Lift Tickets and Rentals
We encourage you to buy lift tickets and secure equipment rental before you arrive.

Eric Zitzewitz Award
The Eric Zitzewitz Award is given annually. Criteria vary, but may include any of the following:
- Showing an overall high level of enthusiasm during the conference.
- Maximizing the ratio of difficulty of chosen skiing terrain to skiing ability.
- Effectively shaming — using deeds not words — skiing companions who select wimpier terrain than they should conditional on ability.
- Engaging in daring exploits.*
- Simply showing up… year… after year… after year (see 2013).
The Eric Zitzewitz Award is to be considered a badge of honor and a point of pride. (And bonus points if you put it on your c.v.)
Past winners are:
- The Snow Storm (2024)
- Josh Gottlieb (2023)
- If you won this year, please tell Kendra! (2022)
- Covid-19 (2021)
- Ed Lazear (2020)

*The Official Policy of the Utah WBEC is that daring exploits are not encouraged. We are all too old for that sort of thing. Despite this, we do recognize daring exploits when engaged in unintentionally, as is sometimes the case (see 2010).
