Marriner S. Eccles Scholars Program
The Marriner S. Eccles Scholar Program invites University of Utah undergraduates interested in economics research and data analysis to participate in faculty-led projects focused on issues of national interest or to the state of Utah. These projects will produce research briefs that combine novel quantitative analyses and discussion of key economic issues. This research will provide thought leadership on relevant topics and have an audience of stakeholders, policy-makers and academics.
This paid opportunity is offered in the Fall and Spring semesters and requires a commitment of 5 to10 hours/week. Sophomores and Juniors with experience in econometrics are encouraged to apply. The duration of the project will range from one semester to one academic year. Students will be able to choose the type/duration of the project they wish to work on. Students must be enrolled full time and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Students will gain skills and experience in conducting econometric analyses and writing research findings for a general/policy audience. This opportunity is strongly recommended for students who are interested in writing an honors thesis or in pursuing graduate study in economics.
